Mathew is an associate attorney in the firm’s Missoula, Montana office, where he represents property owners, businesses, and communities in complex environmental litigation involving contamination, toxic exposure, pollution, and environmental property damage. He advises clients through every stage of a dispute—from investigating contamination and assessing property damage to pursuing claims involving Superfund (CERCLA), cost recovery, and regulatory violations. Drawing on his background in environmental science and policy, Mathew translates complex technical issues into clear legal strategies that advance his clients’ interests.
Before joining the firm, Mathew earned his J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law, graduating in the top one percent of his class. During law school, he served as a Fellow with the Energy and Natural Resources Law Center, externed with the United States Attorney’s Office, and gained judicial experience through an internship with the Honorable Michael J. McShane of the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon and a clerkship with the Honorable Dana L. Christensen of the U.S. District Court for the District of Montana. Prior to law school, Mathew graduated with highest honors from Montana State University’s Honors College, earning a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science.
